
Amnon Dekel:
ITP Alumnus (1993-1996). A
Cyber-Psychologist-Programmer-Computer Scientist-Entrepreneur-Artist-ex-Air
Traffic Controller, Amnon has been working with digital technology since 1980
(when he got his first Sinclair Z80 “computer”). Since then he has spent his
time exploring the leading edge of User Experience Design in Industry (Award of
Excellence in Information Design (CommArts Magazine 1996 for the Discovery
Channel Online), Design Distinction Award (ID Magazine) and a Pulitzer
Nomination for the Bosnia Website designed for the NY Times in 1996) and in Art
(Pulse Art Gallery NYC 1995; Postmasters NYC, 1996; Goes, Netherlands, 1998; Interact 2003; Nissui Kelim, Israel 2005, 2006; Um-El-Fahm
Gallery, Israel 2007).
Amnon was the founding director of the Digital Media
Program at the Interdisciplinary Center in Israel (1996 – 1999) and
participated in the first Internet bubble as the co-founder of Earthnoise Inc,
the first video sharing community web service (7 years before YouTube, and
alas, 7 years too early). Today Amnon juggles a PhD in Computer Science (interfacing
the physical and mobile worlds), teaching PostPC technology and New Human
Computer Interaction (at the Hebrew University) and TEXperience (at the Bezalel
Academy of Art and Design in Jerusalem), building a new company for the second
internet bubble (VP Product and User Experience at TriPlay Inc), and parenting.
